FLY-OUT TO DEAUVILLE

31st May 2012

In 2010 this trip was unfortunately cancelled due to the ash cloud from the Eyjafjallajokull volcano and last year it was cancelled due to bad weather on two occasions. So, 2012 will be the year we get to Deauville!

For pilots, this fly-out provides the chance to complete a cross-Channel check flight with an instructor. The check flight is required if you are to self-fly hire one of the Aero Club aircraft for a flight over the Channel at any time.

Once we have touched down at Deauville-Saint-Gatien, we will travel to the picturesque town of Honfleur, with its beautiful 17th-century harbour, where we will take lunch in one of the quaint restaurants lining the Quay. There will be plenty of time to tour the shops in this historic town before heading back to Goodwood.

For more information on this fly-out, or to reserve your place, please contact the Club on +44 (0)1243 755159 or email aeroclub@goodwood.com|.

FLY-OUT TO DUXFORD FLYING LEGENDS

30th June 2012

Keep your fingers crossed for dry weather this year as we have again scheduled a fly-out to the extremely popular annual Flying Legends Air Show at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford.

One of Europe’s premier aviation museums, Duxford also boasts a fine collection of tanks, military vehicles and naval exhibits. This famous heritage site began as an airfield in the First World War and also played a vital role in the Second World War, firstly as an RAF fighter station and later as an American fighter base.

More recently, the airfield has hosted the annual Flying Legends weekend, which is considered by many to be the premier piston fighter air show in Europe. You will witness upwards of 30 piston fighters being flown by some of the world’s best pilots in mass formation, assaulting the skies.

Please be aware that non-flyers are very welcome to attend these events
