We are looking to recruit a Maintenance Assistant to join our maintenance team providing planned and reactive maintenance for our venues including The Goodwood Hotel, The Kennels, (our private members’ club), Golf at Goodwood and Goodwood House.
Working in a small team and reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will assist in the day to day maintenance which will include checking for and rectifying faults, preventative maintenance, and altering or improving our buildings and facilities to ensure that we are able to provide a superb customer experience at all times
The role covers all aspects of maintenance so a broad range of experience is required, and experience of one of more of the following trades would be an advantage; plumbing, electrical, carpentry, decorating and tiling. You will also have a good understanding of health and safety and excellent attention to detail.
This role involves regular contact with a wide variety of internal and external contacts at all levels so you will need to have excellent communication skills and enjoy dealing with people.
The hours of work are 40 per week over 5 days on a rota basis, and include working approximately one in four Saturdays and Bank Holidays. The post-holder will also take responsibility for being on call approximately one week in four to respond to and resolve maintenance issues outside of normal working hours.
Due to the rural location of the Goodwood Estate, own transport is essential.
