BlackRock proudly presents the Drivers' Club. This private oasis of calm from the adrenaline of the track is the ultimate retreat for the Festival’s globe-trotting drivers and riders. Its red-carpet entrance is also the perfect place to see and catch these motor racing stars for a quick chat and an autograph.
Pioneering Supercars distracted famous faces on the BlackRock Drivers’ Club walkway
As famous drivers and riders walked along the famed red carpet walkway to the BlackRock Drivers’ Club at 2011's Goodwood Festival of Speed, they had a stunning collection of innovative and desirable supercars to distract them from chatting to the race fans and signing autographs. Technically advanced sporting machines as diverse as the original Chevrolet Corvette (the world’s first mass market fibreglass sportscar), Mercedes 300SL (the first production car to use gullwing doors), Jensen FF (first use of four-wheel–drive and ABS braking in a performance car) and McLaren F1 (pioneering use of carbon fibre) kept both the drivers and spectators alike drooling and dreaming.
