how do the evaluation drives work?

Each manufacturer attending the Moving Motor Show will be running its latest model on an interesting and purpose-built test route, covering over 3.5 miles of roads within the stunning Goodwood Estate, which includes the famous Goodwood Hillclimb.

It is important to note that all evaluation drives will be strictly by prior arrangement at the invitation of the attending vehicle manufacturers only.

All vehicles will have a manufacturer’s representative in the car, to help explain the controls and the various attributes of the vehicle being driven.  Having pulled out of the main Moving Motor Show exhibition area, adjacent to the Start Line, cars will line-up and leave from the iconic Festival of Speed start line gantry at regular intervals to drive up the celebrated Goodwood hillclimb, which will be fully ‘dressed’ with its straw bales, famous foot bridge, safety marshals and so on, in readiness for the Festival of Speed which commences the day after the Moving Motor Show.

Once at the top of the Festival of Speed hillclimb, all vehicles will turn out onto the (closed) public road for a short distance next to the Goodwood Racecourse, before returning to a set of private roads within the Goodwood Estate, and back to the main Moving Motor Show to complete the test route. Each evaluation drive should take around 10 minutes.
