Eight Formula One World Champions are tackling the Goodwood hillclimb course during the 2012 Festival of Speed meeting. Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button took to the hill this morning, performing a series of smoky burnouts aboard their Grand Prix machinery, while first-time visitor Alain Prost was reunited with the Renault RE30 he raced during the 1983 F1 season. Two-time World Champion and Indy 500 victor Emerson Fittipaldi drove a Lotus 72 while three-time champion Sir Jackie Stewart demonstrated a fabulous Mercedes-Benz W194. 1964 champion John Surtees rode a Manx Norton and drove a Lotus 18 while ’96 title holder Damon Hill is expected trackside over the course of the Festival weekend.
