James Pocklington fired a warning shot in the first of two batches of cars running against the clock for the fastest time of the weekend prize. Rupert Clevely was the first driver to take to the hill and initially looked set for honours aboard his Lancia LC2 Group C car. His time of 59.57s was only eclipsed by final runner Pocklington aboard his ex-John Cleland ’92 Vauxhall Cavalier Super Tourer. He hustled the 1200kg saloon to the top of the hill with an impressive time of 58.70s.
