A Triumphant Return for 2011!
Following the great success of this year’s inaugural Goodwood Aviation Exhibition as an additional attraction at the annual Festival of Speed, the Earl of March is delighted to confirm that this dedicated event for the aviation industry and aircraft enthusiasts will be held again in 2011.
The Goodwood Aviation Exhibition will be take place at the ex-Battle of Britain Goodwood Aerodrome as a significant part of the Festival of Speed and Moving Motor Show, and will take place from 30 June to 3 July next year.
Aircraft industry exhibition
The Goodwood Aviation Exhibition has been driven by demand for a strong aircraft industry exhibition, with almost a third of those attending the Festival of Speed having a private pilot’s licence, chartering aircraft or a very strong interest in aviation.
The Aviation Exhibition offers a superb opportunity for the aviation industry to gain useful exposure, with the inaugural 2010 event attracting a high net worth audience that placed orders with the satisfied exhibitors, including Pilatus, Patriot Aviation and Hawker Beechcraft.
New for 2011
For 2011 the event will see a significant increase in the number of exhibitors, covering a wide spectrum of aviation, from aviation service suppliers and equipment to microlights and light aircraft - including the Beech 200 and Cessna Caravan. New for next year will be the introduction of Loop Live, which will include exhilarating live flight tests and interviews with pilots.
The Goodwood Aerodrome is less than half a mile from the main Festival of Speed site within the grounds of Goodwood Park, with a regular free shuttle service transferring between the two locations. Aircraft manufacturers will also have the opportunity to take prospective clients on an evaluation flight.
Celebration of transportation
Since its introduction in 1993, the Festival of Speed has grown to become the world’s leading celebration of transportation for enthusiasts, with the prime focus being automotive, but other modes of transport also being celebrated, from pedal cycles and soap boxes, right through to high speed boats and aircraft. The event consistently attracts more than 150,000 visitors, with daily air displays – ranging from the Red Arrows to the UK public debut of the Air Bus in flight – being one of the most popular attractions.
During the Festival of Speed more than 200 aircraft fly into the Goodwood Aerodrome each day, with the pilots and passengers able to enjoy some hospitality on arrival and departure, take in the Goodwood Aviation Exhibition and then take a courtesy shuttle via a VIP route into the heart of the Festival.
Lord March on aviation
Commenting on the Goodwood Aviation Exhibition, Festival of Speed founder Lord March says; “I am very encouraged with the fantastic response we received to the inaugural Exhibition here with enthusiastic support and interest from the aviation industry. I am confident that aviation will play a major part at the Festival for many years to come as a must attend element of the event where the very latest aircraft models and technical developments can be seen in a stunning setting and relaxed environment.”
