Goodwood restaurants win prestigious awards

Two Goodwood Restaurants have won prestigious awards for the high quality of cuisine and service

The Goodwood Hotel Bar & Grill voted best food for golfers

At a recent Excellence in Golf Awards ceremony attended by Britain’s leading golf resorts and golf hotel groups the Bar &Grill was presented with the award for the venue which “serves and presents the tastiest food”.

The accolade was awarded by 59club, the independent golf analysis business that measures service at most of the leading golf venues in the country.

The venues within the 59club scheme receive mystery calls and visits six times a year throughout the seasons, ensuring that minimum standards are maintained across the entire year.

Simon Wordsworth, Fellow of the PGA and director of 59club commented: “The winners totally deserve their accolades; they work diligently within the 59club scheme to initially improve and then maintain higher service standards across their venue.”

The Richmond Arms Restaurant

“I am delighted to announce that Goodwood Hotel Head Chef, Paul Owens and his team have secured a 2nd Rosette for the Richmond Arms Restaurant.

This award was given this morning by the Peter Sturdey from the AA after an anonymous overnight inspection, Paul Owens took over the hotel kitchens as recently as last December so this is a great milestone and he already has his sights firmly set on the 3rd Rosette!

Peter thought the dishes were well structured, flavours were balanced and the dishes were well executed.  He also liked the menu layout, content and seasonality remarking also on the high quality of all the ingredients used in the dishes, some of which came from Goodwood Home Farm.  He also mentioned the home made warm bread, the wonderful Pecan Dessert and the attentive service from Szilard and his team.  The 2nd Rosette award takes into consideration food quality across all of the outlets and Peter was also positive about the Goodwood Bar and Grill and this morning’s breakfast which he said was excellent.”
