Glorious Goodwood

All Fashions Welcome at Glorious Goodwood!

Unlike many events this summer, Glorious Goodwood will not be informing their race-goers how long one’s skirt should be, or what one should wear upon their heads. Yes that’s right; the public are free to dress how they wish, without fear of fashion police escorting them off the premises! Instead, they will be welcomed through the gates with open arms and a smile, free to enjoy the thrilling atmosphere, exciting horseracing, elegance and glamour that Glorious Goodwood so flawlessly oozes over their five-day festival

People are more than able to dress themselves in line with an event such as Goodwood without the need to distribute a style guide to ticket buyers filled with rules and regulations, the only exception being the Richmond Enclosure, which requires gentleman to wear a shirt and tie*. Rather, Goodwood Racecourse trusts the public to dress appropriately for the fabulously British event and encourages all to enjoy the thrills and excitement as well as the fashion with friends and family.

Grace Woodward, stylist to the stars commented, ‘Glorious Goodwood is all about the day rather than what one should and shouldn't wear on their heads! Unlike other events this summer, there will no doubt be a sea of coloured fascinators and hats decorating pretty ladies heads and rather than phoning the fashion police, the staff will welcome them with open arms which is perhaps why Glorious Goodwood has always been able to hold its chic, elegant and relaxed status making it a firm favourite on our summer social calendars!'

The pinnacle of Britain’s sporting and social calendar will return to the Downs from 31st July – 4th August. Chilled champagne, succulent strawberries, glamour and style flood the racecourse as crowds in their thousands will gather over the five days to soak up thrilling races including the Sussex Stakes, Ladies Charity Race and the Blue Square Stewards Cup and rather than focusing purely on attire, the festival instead prioritises its public’s experience – eager for all to have the perfect summer’s day out.
