Wearing a hat is a racing certainty for a fun evening at Goodwood Racecourse at a brand new evening race meeting on August 12.
Vintage at the Races will preview Goodwood’s major new Vintage at Goodwood Festival which celebrates five decades of British cool in fashion, film, art, music and food.
The strict dress code for the evening is ‘wear a hat’. It is your chance to go for the ultimate in elegant style in the fashion stakes.
Racegoers who book online before the 6 August will receive discounted entry to the Gordon and Lennox Enclosures costing £15, normally £21 per person.
Vintage at Goodwood on August 13, 14 and 15, is an innovative festival which explores British cool from the 40s, 50s, 60s 70s and 80s. It is the brainchild of designers Wayne and Geraldine Hemingway and Lord March, the mastermind behind the internationally-acclaimed Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival.
Curated by some of Britain’s leading music, fashion, design and vintage experts, it is the first of an annual celebration of creative culture and takes place against the stunning backdrop of the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex
It will feature an inspirational line-up of world renowned DJs and bands from each decade, reflecting the music trends that have had such a huge impact on the UK. The three-day event will also feature an exciting 300m-long high street with over 25 shops and the world’s largest vintage market, together with beauty salons, a cinema and several cafes.
This unique new event in the Goodwood calendar will be launched at Goodwood Racecourse with an evening of entertainment on August 12. Race goers will have a taste of the exciting events coming up at Vintage, including a retro fashion catwalk, music from veteran DJs and buskers and a mock invasion of mods and rockers.
