The new GROG horse was unveiled on Sunday 12th December to Members of the Eighteenth Goodwood Racehorse Owners Group (GROG). The name, Goodwood Atlantis, was suggested by two GROG Members and was given the vote of approval by the Board ahead of the many other names offered.
The bay colt has a pedigree packed with high class speed elements. He comes from the world’s premier speed line stemming from Mr Prospector, his great grandsire. His sire, Elusive City, has the brilliant sprinter Dayjur as his maternal grandsire; and his own maternal great grandsire Kris was a Champion miler at three and four years of age with victory in Goodwood’s Sussex Stakes and a second place in the 2000 Guineas to his credit. This combination opens up fascinating possibilities for our colt’s racing aptitude.
Racing Manager, Gail Brown comments: “Goodwood Atlantis will continue his elementary training with John Dunlop at Castle Stables in Arundel, and we look forward to seeing his progress.”
