At the Goodwood Season Debut on Saturday 30 April, jockey David Probert was caught short when the wrong silks turned up for him to wear in the totepool EBF Conqueror Stakes. Rather than the white with green horizontal striped silks he was expected to wear, Probert was left with plain white silks. The rules and regulations of racing state that jockeys must wear the colours that are shown in the racecard, if this rule is breached then the horse and rider are withdrawn from the race. In an ingenious attempt to avoid being withdrawn from the race, Probert and fellow jockey, Hayley Turner, pinned green jay cloths to his white silks and managed to forgo the penalty.
