Trinny Woodall stars at the RSA Pantomime Horse Derby at Goodwood

Television presenter and style guru Trinny Woodall is to present ‘Best in Show’ at the RSA Pantomime Horse derby at Goodwood Racecourse on Thursday (June 24).

RSA, the leading UK insurance company, has teamed up with Action on Addiction and Heart radio’s charity, Have a Heart, to provide some four legged fun in this derby with a difference. It challenges teams of five; trainer, groom, owner and the front and back end of the horse, to compete in qualifying derbies, a grand final and dressage, all in the name of fundraising!

Trinny Woodall, who is a long term supporter of Action on Addiction, will be judging the ‘best in show’ competition. Look out also for TV host and commentator Dr David Bull will be compere for the day’s proceedings.

The event aims to raise more than £35,000 to help Action on Addiction and Heart FM’s Have a Heart Appeal.

Bradley Eccleshare, Goodwood Racecourse Marketing and PR Manager says: “Goodwood Racecourse is delighted to stage the Pantomime Derby.

The emphasis is firmly on having fun and raising money for two really good causes.”

Clare Sheikh, RSA Group Director of Strategy, Marketing & Customer said: "The RSA Pantomime Horse Derby burst onto the scene two years ago and to date we have raised a fantastic £53,000 in total for our chosen charities. This year we hope the event will be even bigger and better.”

Tamsyn Clark, Acting Director of Charities for Have a Heart said: “We’re delighted to have been selected as one of the beneficiaries of such an unusual and entertaining event.”

Amanda Williams, Director of Action on Addiction added: “The event has proven to be a huge success and we are delighted to be one of the benefiting charities this time around.”

The Pantomime Horse Derby will take place before the usual Goodwood race calendar gets under way in the afternoon.
