Aero Club

If flying is your passion, the Goodwood Aero Club is packed with people who feel the same way.

Becoming a Member of the GAC gives a real feeling of being a part of Goodwood’s rich aviation history. Originally an RAF airfield during World War II, RAF Westhampnett, the area is steeped in flying memories. During the Goodwood Revival, Members and their guests are given their own special area centred around the Flying Club building and exclusive access to the very special vintage aircraft which perform at Goodwood as well as the Warbirds taking part in the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation exhibition. As a Member you can talk to the pilots and get aboard these amazing, historic aircraft.

The Aero Club also has a lively and entertaining social calendar including Fly Outs which involve taking trips to airfields throughout Europe and you don’t even need to be a pilot to take part. Members also enjoy discounts to fly in Goodwood’s own heritage plane, the World War II Harvard, in which you can take a trial lesson or have a go at wartime aerobatic training with a fully qualified instructor. And if you simply want to learn to fly, our Private Pilot’s Licence training is second to none.

During the Goodwood Revival, Members can take part in flight experiences over the amazing motor circuit and get year long access to the Members’ only Richmond Hordern Clubroom. Members are entitled to reduced landing fees, parking and fuel all year round and can also join in Club visits to air shows, attend talks from aviation experts and dance the  night away at the annual ball at Goodwood House.

We even have carols at Christmas in one of our hangars, special members’ only merchandise, a badge, Membership card and car sticker, an exciting e-newsletter as well as a generous discount on tickets for both the Festival of Speed and the Revival.  And, of course, The Kennels is your own Clubhouse to use.
