The Goodwood Road Racing Club
Motorsport has been at the heart of Goodwood for many years since the ninth Duke of Richmond established the Goodwood motor circuit on what was RAF Westhampnett, a wartime airfield in 1948.
Top class racing drivers and their machines battled it out on Goodwood’s famous straights and corners until the arrival of ever faster cars and regulations forced it to close in 1966.
In 1998, the Earl of March re-established it after a complete and sympathetic restoration and it is now plays host to one of the international historic motor racing calendar’s highlights, the Goodwood Revival in September.
In July, Goodwood Park attracts visitors from across the globe to its famous motorsport event, the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Three days of up close action and the chance to meet motorsport heroes from the past and the present, give an unrivalled chance for motor racing fans to revel in the sights and sounds of this exciting and high octane sport.
Goodwood Road Racing Club members can expect unique privileges and exclusive access at both motorsport events as well as full use of the sporting members’ clubhouse, The Kennels.
