THE CLUBHOUSE

Each and every sporting member of Goodwood members’ club can use The Kennels as their clubhouse.  Designed by renowned architect, James Wyatt and built in 1787, The Kennels was as the name suggests, a sumptuous dog house where the Duke of Richmond kept his pampered top level hunting hounds.  It even had early heating – a metal plate ran throughout the four wings of the building heated by roaring fires.

In the first decade of the twenty first century, the Earl of March totally refurbished the Grade 1 listed building ensuring that every detail has resulted in a special place with a very typical sense of Goodwood’s relaxed and unselfconscious style.  Today, The Kennels houses a glorious restaurant, terraces, drawing room complete with squashy sofas and roaring fire, bar, sumptuous changing facilities for golfers, private meeting rooms and its team of talented chefs prepare fresh, often estate reared food on the premises.

Open 365 days a year, The Kennels would be yours to use, whenever you want if you join one of Goodwood’s sporting clubs. Alternatively, you can join The Kennels purely as a social member.
