A Super Sunday

Goodwood Breakfast Club - Supercar Sunday

On Sunday 1 May the world famous Goodwood Motor Circuit burst into life with the heartbeat of thousands of visitors and the thunder of their cars for Supercar Sunday, our most popular Breakfast Club. The wonderful spring morning brought cars and drivers from far and wide to enjoy astonishing scenes of millions of pounds worth exotica in this beautiful corner of West Sussex.

First on the grid were two new cars, a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and a Koenigsegg Agera. Both were permanently surrounded by admirers during their stay. The word on most lips was, “Will there be a Bugatti Veyron?” Well, there was already a mighty Bugatti EB110GT on the track and when a Veyron arrived it disappeared behind a deep wall of onlookers. The excitement that this car creates is amazing, especially amongst the young. Those who looked around also found a highly desirable McLaren F1, at the entrance to the paddock area.

Other stars on the grid included a host of Aston Martins and an example of virtually every model of Ferrari and Porsche. There were all manner of other marques, including Maseratis, Alfa Romeos and Jaguars of all ages. All this excitement create voracious appetites, making the food outlets a key point of the day, the central restaurant which supplied wholesome breakfasts from local sources, including Goodwood’s award winning organic farm.

The quality and variety of the cars and motorcycles was simply breathtaking. We would like to thank the owners of all these fine vehicles, particularly the rarely-seen models, for bringing their cars out for all to see.

Don’t forget our next event on Sunday 5 June, when the theme will be “Sporting Legends,” featuring post 1970 cars, performance and GT cars, with a special celebration of the TVR marque. You really have to see it to believe it!

All Breakfast Club meetings are free to attend, and are staged from 8:00hrs to midday. Goodwood encourages Breakfast Club visitors to register their intention to visit the monthly event to gauge numbers and vehicle types, by registering your vehicle|. Don’t miss out - if your vehicle matches the theme for the particular month's Breakfast Club, you may even be selected to park it on the grid, where your pride and joy will be admired and envied by fellow Breakfast Clubbers.
