The 2012 Goodwood Motor Sport Press Day has just taken place, previewing the exciting plans that Lord March and his team have in place for this year’s Festival of Speed (28 June-01 July) and Revival (14-16 September).     The Festival of Speed remains unique in its ability to attract the majority of the current season’s Formula 1 teams and drivers, alongside many past Grand Prix masters. In total, 17 Grand Prix winners will be in action, with a total of 232 GP wins between them! One of the great Festival of Speed’s moments will be relived at this year’s event, when Nick Heidfeld is reunited with the very McLaren MP4/13 that he so famously launched up the Goodwood Hill in a record time of 41.6 seconds in 1999. His record remains.

    Once again the forest on the hillside above Goodwood House will echo to the sound of both historic and modern rally cars, as the Festival of Speed showcases the greatest loose-surface driving on its exciting Forest Rally Stage. Expect to see rallying legends such as 1965 European Champion Rauno Aaltonen and 1983 World Champion Hannu Mikkola, alongside multiple British Champions Russell Brookes .
