A parade of Ferrari 250GTOs ventured trackside at the 2012 Goodwood Revival for what was among the most valuable cavalcades ever witnessed. Between 1962 and 1964, the Modenese concern built just 36 250-series GTOs, plus three larger-engined 330GTOs, to compete in the GT category of sports car racing. The Giotto Bizzarrini-conceived machine dominated for three seasons, bagging two outright wins in the Tourist Trophy and class honours in the Le Mans 24 Hour race among other scalps. One example, intended for Stirling Moss to race, was sold recently for £22.7 million.
