Ghosts at the 2011 Goodwood Revival

Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts Waft Into the Goodwood Revival

On Friday 16 September a stunning collection of Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost motor cars, dating from 1911 to 1925, will waft into the Goodwood Revival to complete a celebration tour of the centenary of the 1911 London to Edinburgh top Gear run and the subsequent High Speed run at Brooklands.

From 7.30a.m. up to 20 Silver Ghosts will line up on the Goodwood grid and then join the Revival Opening Parade lap.  The cars will then join more Silver Ghosts and be parked in a special display area of Revival Car Show pre-1966 car park, near the entrance to the Motor Circuit and Bonhams auction marquee, where two more very interesting finely-restored Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts will be sold; the first being a magnificent Maharajah's Ceremonial Car from 1911, and the second is a 1908 example, making it one of only a four surviving examples from that year's production, with imposing open touring coachwork with three rows of seats, built by noted French coachbuilder Labourdette.
