This year’s event will feature a world-class line-up of racing machinery celebrating the golden age of motor sport – on both two and four wheels. This year’s event will honour one of the great names in Goodwood history, Juan Manuel Fangio, who competed here in 1952 and ’53. 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of the Argentinean legend’s birth, and also 60 years since Il Maestro claimed the first of five Formula One world championship titles. We will be celebrating these milestones with daily track parades, featuring many cars that have travelled from his homeland especially for the Revival meeting. Other highlights will include an incredible array of 100 Ford vehicles to mark Ford of Britain’s centenary.
Trackside action will include a one-off, one-make race for Jaguar E-types in celebration of the sporting great’s half-century. Also not to be missed is the appearance of 15 time motorcycle world champion Giacomo Agostini in the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy race. Goodwood’s aviation links, meanwhile, will be honoured with the largest number of Spitfires ever to fly in formation over West Sussex since 1946.
