Lavant Cup

Run in 2009, the Lavant Cup celebrated the 50th anniversary of one of the most important races ever to take place at Goodwood - The 1959 Tourist Trophy. Fifty years ago, the works Aston Martin, Ferrari and Porsche teams dispatched their latest sports cars to Goodwood for that season's gripping finale. At stake was the World Sports Car Championship, and all three teams had a chance of winning it. Stirling Moss famously secured the title for Aston Martin by winning the six-hour endurance race. The slimmed-down 60-minute, two-driver race at the 2009 Goodwood Revival paid homage to this epic victory.
