Farm Walk

Enjoy a guided walk and the first spring lambs at Goodwood’s organic Home Farm. This is a great opportunity for all the family to see the early lambs and find out how food is grown on Goodwood’s organic Farm. Walkers will also enjoy seeing our free range pigs and sheep, as well as watch the cows being milked. There will also be the opportunity to see spring beginning to change the fauna and wildlife in Seeley Copse, a nature reserve set in the shadow of the Estate walls.

Those interested should meet at Goodwood Farm Shop at 2pm, equipped with boots or wellies and warm clothing. The walk is approximately 2 miles long and will last for around 2 hours.

Adults £3, Children £1.

For further information and to book a place on the walk, please telephone 01243 755157 or email sarah.stewart@goodwood.com|.

A Successful August

August has been an incredible month for Goodwood Home Farm and Shop with a veritable treasure trove of silverware, rosettes and certificates adorning our walls and shelves.

We're thrilled to announce that in addition to the recognition by The Independent as Best Farm Shop for London and the South East, our Shepherd, Nick Page has also been named Supreme Champion at the National Southdown Sheep Society Early Breeders Show 2011 and also won the Reserve Champion Prize as well.

We’ve also been awarded with two fabulous awards at this year’s Great Taste Awards. Organised by the Guild of Fine Food and described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world, the Great Taste Awards involve the blind tasting of products by 350+ judges, from chefs to food critics. The judges this year awarded our Goodwood Organic Back Bacon 1 Gold Star and our Goodwood Organic Fillet of Beef 2 Gold Stars. These awards sit alongside the 1 Gold Star that we achieved in 2010 for our Organic March Burgers, a traditional ‘ham’ burger, made with our organic pork, subtly seasoned and flavoured with sage.

If you haven't tried our award winning products, do pop in soon and if you see Nick and his flock when you're passing, do remember to congratulate him on his latest accomplishments....

Charlton Cheese achieves Organic Status

We are delighted to announce that our first cheese, Charlton, a traditional farmhouse cheese made on the farm with our own organic milk and using organic cultures and rennet, has been awarded full organic status from the Soil Association.

This achievement is alongside organic accreditation for our dry cured back and streaky bacon, made with organic pork from our Gloucester Old Spot and Saddleback pigs. This means that all Goodwood bacon is made with traditional dry cures that are organically certified by the Soil Association.

This latest Soil Association certification means that our organic product offering is now extended to include:

  • Beef, pork and lamb
  • Bacon
  • Gammon and ham (Seasonal)
  • Turkey and geese (Seasonal)
  • Charlton
  • Pasteurised and unpasteurised milk
  • Pasteurised cream
  • Ale and lager (produced by Hepworth and Co. of Horsham, using our organic malted barley)
