Sheepdog trials

The UK’s finest sheepdogs and handlers are Goodwood-bound for the Sussex Sheepdog Association Colin Lutman Memorial Trials.

On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September, more than 60 top handlers from across the UK will descend on the Goodwood Estate in Sussex for the annual trials.

Goodwood Home Farm Manager, Tim Hassell says, 'We'd like to welcome as many visitors to come and watch the trials as possible. The wonderful working dogs really are superbly talented and the handlers putting the dogs through their paces employ a variety of whistles and commands to steer the dog around the sheep, which in itself is a great spectacle.'  

Visitors are welcome from 8am onwards, with a £2 entry fee and on Sunday there will be a fun Dog Show at lunch time, a delicious array of homemade cakes and an excellent raffle. All proceeds from the days will go towards MacMillan Cancer Support.

Follow the signs from Chichester towards Goodwood, where the event will take place in Swans Bottom (entry via Goodwood House).
