Juniors at the Club Championships 2023
There were 14 Juniors who participated in the Men’s Club Championships at the start of August, with many being successful over the weekend. Roman Kulyk was tied for 1st in the Nett category, after round 1, shooting a brilliant six-under handicap, 66. He was closely followed by Dougal Rattray who shot Nett 67, in the opening round on The Park Course.
Harry Callow shot the lowest gross amongst the juniors, scoring a 77 (+5), to put himself 5th overall and only four shots back heading into round two.
The Downs course was the host of the second round, with all players teeing off from the purple tees. Dougal Rattray once again showed his quality as he shot another impressive Nett 67, leading him to victory in the Nett category, finishing ten under handicap for his two rounds. Roman Kulyk backed up his 66 in round one, with a solid Nett 73 in round two, guiding him to a third-place finish.
Jamie Burchill impressed in round two as he shot a brilliant 71 (-1) to finish third in the Gross category, with the only players beating him being ex-juniors, Joe Sykes and Josh McCartain. Harvey Underwood secured a top-five finish as he shot +9 over the two rounds.
Congratulations to all the Juniors who played in this Championship and well done to all the prize winners!
